Osteopathy Assessment and Treatment for Your Whole Being

You may have noticed that manual osteopathy has shown up on your extended health plan recently. Myron is a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner – so we would like to tell you  more.

What is osteopathy?  How might it benefit you?

Osteopathy is manual therapy that looks at a person as a complete being (not a sum of the individual parts).

Osteopathy has a long history over a 100 years of helping the whole person. In Canada, a Manual Osteopath requires a diploma to use the title. But when Myron chooses to pursue learning, he seeks out the deepest and best. So his training extended into a intensive 2 year European Doctorate degree.

Myron wanted to be really effective at understanding the entire body how it works together (or not so well). He continues to seek trainings that give him complex and very effective treatments for your entire body, mind, and soul.

Osteopathy finds and treats areas of the body that require balance to function optimally. It is a very gentle, but profoundly effective, therapy.

What is that to you? Everything!

You want to live life to the fullest. Philosophically, osteopathy is all about seeking ways to help you live that full life, as efficiently as possible. That is what attracted Myron to the study and practice in the first place.

Daily living in our bodies creates compensations so that the body can continue to function. Little by little we move away from our optimal anti-gravity position. In short, adapted normal is no longer optimal.

Why does that matter?

Consider the typical physical tasks of life: liftingtwisting, lots of sitting, and driving. Now consider the increased wear on joints and developed muscle imbalances when you do those things with less than optimal form which creates less optimal performance.

Hmmm… You may be thinking: “I have noticed that my stretching tension is not equal on both sides and it is tougher to strengthen one muscle group over the same on the other side.” or… “I have noticed those typical life tasks are so challenging for my body, are painful, or are exhausting.”

What to do?

In this 2 minute video, Myron tells you about the 4 main techniques he uses in Manual Osteopathy treatments:manual
